Details: Barbapapa' is an extravagant product of nature born in the garden of the brothers Francesco and Carlotta. Due to its large size it is locked up in the zoo where it tries to make friends with other animals. Unable to live in a cage, Barbapapa' finds himself alone and without a place to sleep. When he manages to save the tenants of a burning building thanks to one of his wonderful tricks, Barbapapa becomes a celebrity and Francesco and Carlotta manage to convince their mother to let him return to live in their garden. Based on the cartoon of the same name by Annette Tison and Talus Taylor (published in France since 1970), it was one of the first works capable of raising public awareness of ecological issues. The television transposition (3 series for a total of 150 episodes of 5 minutes each), was entirely made in Japan, and in Italy it was broadcast on Rai Due from February 1978. The success that followed was so great as to generate a quantity unlimited number of merchandising and, to date, continues unabated!
